Salut les Aigles,
Today, we arrived at school to find an injured deer in our school yard. The deer was bedded down in the back area of the school that is closest to Monmouth Dr. As a precaution, we placed orange cones out to mark off the area so that students did not disturb the deer. Our supervisors also ensured that students stayed away from the area to avoid stressing the animal.
The school also reached out to the BC Conservation Officer Service who came by to support us and the deer. It was decided to tranquilize the deer so that the BC Conservation Officer Service can properly assess the deer. I would like to thank them for their care and attention.
I would also like to thank our students who displayed a lot of empathy and respect by listening closely to directions from staff and by giving the deer the space it needed today. I am proud of them.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact the school.
